| Assessment |
Each program module (except the research project) is assessed by a
three hour examination. You must pass all four modules before
starting work on the research project with your supervisor.
Examinations are your opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge and
skills you have developed in each module. If you have prepared well,
reading and reflecting on the study materials, you should have
nothing to fear when the examination day arrives.
You will be expected to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of
the key theories, concepts and models from the modules in your
examinations. At undergraduate level, you must be able to apply and
evaluate knowledge – it is not sufficient to learn theories and
simply reproduce them from memory in your examinations.
In order to ‘practice’ analysis and application of the study
material to the required standard, you are required to submit a
formative assignment in each module. This will help you to
understand the requirements of study in the final year of a UK
undergraduate degree. You will be given detailed feedback to help
you in your examination preparations. Final assessment for your
award is by:
-
Module examinations
-
The research project. A major piece of work of 13,000 (maximum)
words.
